The iPhone Screenshot application has reported to be running on:
- iPhone with firmware 1.0.2
- iPhone with firmware 1.1.1
- iPhone with firmware 1.1.2
- iTouch with firmware 1.1.1
If you run on a firmware not listed above please post.
Bugs
We had reports that white lines appear on the screen after a reboot with the screenshot application on. We are working to fix this, a new version will be released soon. The screen will flash a couple of times during reboot but should come back normal.
Solutions!
There is a solution for the buttons not showing up, you need the BSD subsystem installed. Thanks Bob for the assistance in figuring this out!

Currently the version is not compatible with the Dock application!

I reset my iTouch after installing and enableing this app. Now I get a flashing screen whenn the touch starts up. It is just the apple logo and white and black lines that flash on the screen. If I hold the home button down just after I restart the touch i can get to the home screen but all my apps just open and sit there I can’t do anything else with them. Also I have 1.1.1 jailbroken and updated to 1.1.2 and jailbroken again. i have used this for 2 weeks with no issues till now. I did move my app folder as well and symlinked it and it has worked fine. I also still have the snap and view buttons when i start my touch as soon sa it starts to flash is when the buttons show up.
Ok I know you are going to tell me that these apps are for the iPhone but I installed them from the apptapp installer and it says nothing about iPhone only. I really digg both of these apps and think that they are awsome. I was able to get into my touch with winscp and I downloaded the files from here and went in and deleted the ispit and screen shot fie from my device in all the folders. My iTouch is now operating perfectly. I would love to see these two apps work on my itouch and if you need anything from me to help the development process let me know. Keep up the great work l.ove the apps.
Ok one more I just did a new install from the installer and the app works great! Now if I leave the app set to enabled and restart the touch I get the same issue as above but if i disable the app then restart the touch all is well and good I can use my touch just as it should be.
I own an ipod touch and i’ve been using several apps intended for iphone..most off them work correctly..does this app works with ipod touch 1.1.1?

iTouchHackAttack, the app basically turns the driver on and off, the reboot issue is being addressed at the moment, on my phone it doesn’t give any problems.
Just start turning the driver of using ssh and the command:
/bin/launchctl unload -w /Library/LaunchDaemons/nl.robota.iphone.screenshot.plist Then restart your phone and it should be all fine.
Currrently it is recommended not to leave the screenshot buttons on during a reboot; also, there is no reason to reboot after an installation or removal.
I installed the screenshot 1.2.1 on my 1.1.1 iPhone. When i enable it nothing happens, when I restart iPhone it there is a flashing white horizontal lines that cannot he stopped. I reset my iPhone several times but still showing this never ending flashing with the apple logo I cannot do anything. Please help. Thanks.
Ximulator, you are the 2nd to report this problem… We can’t reproduce but are working on a solutilon.
Just wanted to say this is my favorite app, running iPhone/1.1.2 all works perfect, Now I can snapshot my notes and have them on hand, thanks, sure will donate. To be able to view the image directly from the View button would be a great addition.

unfortunately, I am not able to put the photo directory as my default folder (DCIM), everytime I quit the application, it comes back to “TEMP”. Very weird…
Settings are stored in the file:
/var/root/Library/Preferences/nl.robota.iphone.screenshot.plist
Check that this file exists and is writable. It is text format, you should see the path selected in there.

I also got the white bars running and many other problems including failure of Edge. The phone threatened to jam up completely. I uninstalled the screenshot and in fact all other apps I got via Installer and I then struggled to get iphone and Edge connection both up.
By the way, after you solve the issues, please consider a way to view the snaps on iphone just like other photos. This is important if we want to make sure what screenshots we have before sharing with others. As such this is an excellent application!
I’m trying for a while to get it to work. I cant turn it one (1.2.1). I’ve noticed the the default.png background (while loading) as well as the info.list still reflect the 1.1 version…..
I turn it one and nothing happens. When I return everything is back to the default. Really strange.
I have this problem on 1.21 with firmware 1.11. When I enable the screenshot function the “Snap” and “view” button dont show up. I have to restart the springboard in order to have them shown up, by doing so. It sometimes crashes with the spring board and there will be the flashing screen….. Then I have to restart the phone and the springboard by ifuntastic……… Then the Snap and View button will appear and they will work

Screenshot never makes Snapshots by itself, the snapshot you found are made by Apple. They contain the screen at the moment you left your applications so Apple can zoom open and give you the impression that the application is directly available at the state you left it. To prove this, just edit one of this ‘updated snapshots’ (take the Safari one) and put a big red circle or whatever in there. Now launch the application (let’s say Safari) and you will see it zooms open to the image with the red circle. Once you quit the Safari it will hold again the latest application state.

I installed Screenshot and took sevral shots of my different menus on my 1.1.2 iPhone. After a couple of shots, the Snap & View buttons stopped working. I did a reboot and tried to uninstall screenshot but now I can’t make any other application on my iPhone work. All I can do is go around SpringBoard but whenever I open an application, my touch screen no longer responds. What should I do to uninstall screenshot?
Help. I tried to use Screen Shot, but when rebooting the cell phone I got lines and now none of my application works. Now what? please help me.
