iPhone Screenshot 1.3.0 released
We released a new version of the ScreenShot Buttons application; it is in our repository for test.
Please report success/failure/firmware!
Many bugs fixed.
This version addresses many bugs reported, fixes include:
- better reboot handling, screen will no longer flash
- not starting on some iPod Touch has fixed
- compatible with the Dock application
And also we have some new features:
- thumbnail list greatly improved, if you use the photo directory then photo’s are rotated properly
- thumbnail list allows you to view the image directly, just tap the thumbnail and the view flips to the image.
If you don’t see the 1.3.0 version remove the application using the installer and you should see it. For those wondering about updates that stay available, don’t worry, this is a mistake in the repository we are to lazy to fix, nothing serious.
We had questions about very larges thumbnails in the thumbnail list while using the photo director, this is because you made snapshots before using the Dock application. The Dock application, however working, does not make proper screenshots. The thumnail is not resized and the image is renamed to JPG rather than saved as a jpeg. After you remove those images they should not reappear.

Tried screenshot 1.2.1 on my ipod touch. Nice but did noticed that app doesn’t seem to work (or creates image file but won’t let you view it) with some paths other than /tmp. I presume these may be iPhone vs Touch issues. Tried new version 1.3 and like the instant viewer. However, I found that v1.3 images are much degraded (quite a bit darker with very noticeable vignetting) compared to images under v1.2.1? I notice that the screen momentarily darkens when shot is taken. Hope you will keep working on it.
The screenshot is taken at the wrong moment when the message box is on. Turn off the message box should fix that problem for now.

I installed version 1.3.0 on my 1.1.2-iPod touch. It works sometimes but the floating buttons don’t show up in many applications:
- the musicplayer (any view, including the cover flow view)
- the videoplayer
- YouTube
Is there a special reason why the buttons don’t appear in these apps? Is it the same on the iPhone?

You are correct, it does not work for the applications you wrote. We have a half finished solution for this but not sure it will be implemented/work well.
I installed and unfortunately it kinda locked my iphone up ! Once i open any other prog on the phone the screen freezes and only the very top of my screen works (sometimes!) making it impossible to get Screenshots off the iphone !
When i reboot the phone i get black and white lines for about 5 secs as well !
Im using 1.1.2 and i installed Screenshots via Install.app ..
How do i uninstall this app ? any ideas ?
Read on the site for instructions if you have problems with the older versions. The white lines on reboot are fixed in the 1.3 version. I’m not sure I understand ‘the very top of your screen’, mail if you keep having problems.
one of the features that I like so much in Mac Os X it’s print all website in PDF format. Do you can improved this software with this cool features ?

Great app!! I’m using Firmware 1.1.1 and installed Screenshot 1.2.1 via Installer 3. I’ve deleted 1.2.1 and reinstalled but Screenshot 1.3.0 has yet to appear. Any suggestions for getting 1.30 via Installer? Thanks.

Just a question : Why do the snapshots appear gray and with some blur ? it looks like if picture had been taken with insufficient light…
That’s really strange, I don’t think it has anything to do with the application as it does not use scripts. How did you install?

Got jailbroken 1.1.3. This utility seems to not work at all for me. Installed it, turn it on, and then I guess I’m supposed to press the “Home” button, but no buttons show up. A “top” list the software as running though.
Does not save to correct file format/naming scheme when saving to Camera Roll on 1.1.3
still naming files “snap****.png”

if i set jpeg and camera rool as a save folder. The screenshot will be there, but no thumbnails and still snap… format. so i cant see them fro Photos applet. anyway to fix it? thank you.

Installed SreenShot 1.3 - nice program but but a bit buggy. I shut it off, it comes on by itself - I again shut it off, it stays off until I reboot or close and then open the iphone, the it starts up by itself. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling but no help. The problem with the automatic startup is that it happens sometimes when I doing something else. If it continues I’ll uninstall and wait for a fix

Why is it the stupid floating images pop-up everytime i turn my ipodtouch on?Even when I turn the whole thing off and slide all the sliders to off??
