Chess 1.6 - 1.1.3. compatible version released
After the Go game we also updated the Chess game to make it compatible with the 1.1.3 firmware.
All references to the ‘root’ user are removed and a few new features are added:
- Show game moves/history
- Undo button that undoes both your and the computer’s move
The game history does not work after a game has been saved or loaded (that’s for the next version); however, it works after loading a PGN file.

Why can’t you disable the AI and play human vs human on the same phone? This is desperately needed for any time I’m waiting around with my friends; he’s standing right next to me, I have a chess program, but we can’t play each other. Same goes for your Go program. Seems like it would be a no-brainer. Otherwise an amazing program. Implement this and I’d donate in a heartbeat.
your chess program is awesome. The first level is very challenging! Yet somehow I won several times already. My win lost ratio is like 1:9

I have version 1.6 and 1.1.3 and i can’t save any games, when i leave the game the program just restarts from new every time. Is there any way to fix this?

Have to say that I’ve got the same issue: can’t save on my 1.1.3 “ZiPhoned”… any idea which directory rights need to be changed? Just let me know if you need me to provide further details!

i would like to ask if the program able to load, view, edit and save .pgn files so that players could load them onto iphone/ipod view them.
it will be great to view the games of world champions.

This is a great chess app. But it would be even better if it had 2 player mode for analysis or when reading chess books etc. This is a problem with all ipod touch chess apps none have human vs human mode.
Install Problem
i downloaded the chess zip file, in wince, copyed .app to the applications folder, png to the root/Media/.
after restart iphone, runing Chess. the program stop at the “we trust you donate!” screen for a while, and then back to the iphone screen.

i downloaded it and installed it on my iPhone (1.1.3). A alert dialog box diaplay on my screen when i move one chessman. Player black thinking and not move any black chessman. Could you tell me the reason why i can not play this game on my iphone? thanks!
Hi, I’ve got v1.6.
However the game does not let you win! If I am about to check-mate, or in a very close position to do so, the program will either stall (at which point I have to re-start), or the it will say ‘player black thinking’ forever and never make a decision.

How can we make our own custom boards and pieces and get them working? At the moment, new .png files in the “boards” directory doesn’t register with the game.

really nice and powerful chess program!
Now, i downloaded right now version 1.7 and was hoping to be able to save a configuration. How does this work? The configuration is always set to New after exiting and entering the chess program again.
Another question: how does the program start with the white figures?
And how does the Please Donate disappear when i donated?

I’m using version 1.7 on 1.4.4 with no problem at all.
I would like to know if it is possible to install the opening books and how to do it (otherwise it almost alwais plays the same opening).
Suggestion: making the captured pieces visibles in a row would improve the gameplaying.
